Local Lodge 1871 Local Lodge 1871 was organized and received its Charter from the International Association of Machinist in 1944. Since that time, Local Lodge 1871 has represented workers on the properties of Electric Boat Corporation. Our members work in the geographical area of Electric Boat Corporation and include many classifications. Local Lodge 1871 participates with the Metal Trades Council of New London County in contract negotiations. Our current agreement expires April 2014. Please remember that communications about offical Union business must be made in writing through the normal chain of command, such as through a shop steward, local lodge official, or Business Representative, as appropriate.
